Prevention is better than cure, choose your food wisely

Stumbled upon a great circular released by Ministry of Health, absolutely brilliant. I am hoping this was already happening and this is just a reiteration. As per the circular, biscuits have to be avoided and be replaced with Chana, Khajoor, Akhrot, and Badam in meetings.

Processed foods in any form or shape should be avoided, our mother nature is generous enough to offer all her resources, it’s the human who does the selection and rejection.

During my childhood, I remember several saags and leafy vegetables being prepared, they are obsolete now, some taken away by the environment and few by our greed. Accessibility of easy food at the cost of what?

Further study on Indian foods and culture will take you into the world of Ayurveda where the primary premise of nurturing the human body is linked with god and spirituality. The focus was on avoidance and not reaction, the time has come to visit those beliefs again, learn and practice them.

As per Ayurveda, we have three dominant constituent of the body; kapha, pitta, and vatta. These are Doshas, the bio energy centre of our body.

These three doshas govern all physiopathological, psychological, and biological functions of the body, mind, and consciousness.

Ayurveda groups five basic elements (ether, air, fire, water, and earth). Essential humors are known as tridosha, namely vata, pitta, and kapha are composed of these five basic elements. From the ether and air components, the bodily air principle known as vata is manifested, which regulates breathing, mobility, and central and sympathetic nervous systems. The fire and water components in the body constitute the fire principle known as pitta, which regulates the digestion and assimilation process in the body. The earth and water components are known as kapha functions in heat regulation, lubrication, and formation of mucus and synovia.

The first step is to find the Dosha and practice your life accordingly, see food chart follow, start somewhere and start today, be in control of your consciousness and body, they are to be nurtured and not abused.
